Breath-Response Powered-Air
Purifying Respirator (PAPR)
For
Creation of Easier Breathing… Optimum volume
of airflow synchronized with wearer’s inhalation pattern is supplied.
“Easier breathing while wearing a respirator” is always
a challenge to respirator manufacturers.
Unlike conventional constant-flow PAPR, breath-response PAPR “BL-Series” resolves
difficulty in breathing caused by increase in resistance during exhalation.
The
breath-response PAPRs are almost the same in size compared to conventional
particulate respirators. Thanks to the Breath-Synchronized
Air Flow System (BSFS), the PAPR ensures added protection and natural
breathing. As optimum volume of airflow is supplied, replacement
schedule of particulate filter becomes longer, and thus, running
cost is saved.

Energy-saving, resource-saving
Optimum volume of airflow
Airflow synchronized with breathing pattern saves power consumption,
compared to constant airflow. At the same time, excessive accumulation
of particulates on filter is prevented, and thus, filter consumption
is reduced.
High protection performance (Protection Factor: Category S)
Positive pressure inside the facepiece avoids leakage of particulates.
Pressure
inside the facepiece is maintained positive as necessary
and sufficient volume of airflow is supplied by fan motor.
The positive
pressure prevents airborne particulates from entering
from the slight opening which may be created between face
and the facepiece by accident; and high protection
performance can be obtained.

|
Natural
breathing (Comfortable supply of airflow synchronized
with breathing pattern).
The breath-response PAPR reduces
breathing load.
Fan motor pre-installed
in the breath-response PAPR instantaneously starts operating upon inhalation,
and airflow supplied is reduced upon exhalation.
The breath-response PAPR warns decrease in pressure inside the facepiece
due to decrease in volume of airflow supplied caused by filter clogging.
Enhanced safety can be obtained with the PAPR as the pressure inside
the facepiece is maintained positive. PAPRs are regarded as providing
high protection performance, as the positive pressure prevents airborne
particulates from leaking into the facepiece.
|
Pressure inside the facepiece can be continuously controlled.
Providing sufficient volume of airflow during working and maintaining
the positive pressure inside the facepiece while wearing the respirator
are regarded as important benefits in using the PAPR.
As long as filter is replaced when flashing LED is observed, a newly-introduced
feature of “Inner Pressure Monitoring System,” sufficient
volume of airflow is supplied to the facepiece, maintaining the pressure
inside the facepiece positive. The breath-response PAPR, which visually
ensures added protection, will be used in a variety of applications. |
 |
|
*1
If used while filter is clogged, fan motor will be loaded, shortening
its service life.
|
LED warns power consumption, as well as decrease in pressure inside the facepiece. |
|
*2
Volume of airflow sufficient to maintain the pressure inside the facepiece positive
is still supplied with the residual voltage when the LED starts flashing.
However, voltage rapidly decreases after LED starts flashing, resulting in
decrease in volume of airflow supplied and decrease in pressure inside the
facepiece. In this case, make sure to immediately replace the battery with
a new one.

Benefits
Wearer’s own glasses can be worn under the exclusive
hood. The hood provides protection against particulates from adhering
on face, glasses and respirator. |

| Warning
system : |
1) |
The
warning system continuously monitors the pressure level
inside the facepiece. LED starts flashing when the pressure
inside the facepiece decreases below the ambient pressure.
LED stops flashing for temporary decrease in pressure;
and the flashing becomes faster when decrease in pressure
is continuously observed, and LED keeps flashing until
the power is turned off. (Replace filter in safe place). |
| 2) |
LED lights up
when voltage decreases. (Charge battery in safe place or
replace it with a charged battery). |
