Cartridge Respirators |
 |
Added security, wide variations.
Chemical cartridge respirators are designed to remove toxic gas / vapor,
which could lead
to health disorders. The bonnet-style facepiece enclosure holds exhalation
valve in a space
between silicone facepiece body and front plastic housing. This consistently
allows exhaled
air to fill this space in between and it acts as a barrier to shut
off possible inward leakage of
toxic mist and atmosphere through the valve operation.
Type of chemical cartridge respirators and cartridge varies depending
on the type of gas
and its concentration level in the environment. |
|
|
 |
| Chemical cartridge respirators can be
used in the environment where toxic gas concentration level is less
than 0.1%. Average gas concentration level for full-face chemical
cartridge respirators must be less than 100 times (for half-face
chemical cartridge respirators, it must be less than 10 times) of
the exposure limit. If the duration of work per day is less than
30 minutes, average gas concentration level for full-face chemical
cartridge respirators must be less than 300 times (for half-face
chemical cartridge respirators, it must be less than 30 times) of
the exposure limit. |

Selection
of cartridges
|
Cartridges for use vary
depending on the type of gas at the workplace. Make sure to choose
appropriate cartridge. Call Koken or local distributor if cartridge
for use is uncertain. Use supplied air respirator or SCBA if there
exist more than 2 types of gas, or type of gas or gas concentration
level at the workplace is unknown. |
