Basic Knowledge of “IMADEZE®”

“IMADEZE®” is a copper-based antimicrobial agent, developed by reacting copper and lactic acid in our original method.
It has a strong antimicrobial property and yet, is friendly to the human body. So, it has a high potential for applications to a wide variety of products.

  • Feature 1 Excellent antimicrobial, antifungal and antiviral capabilities

The following table shows its capabilities when 0.05 to 3wt%*1 of “IMADEZE®” is added to a base material.

  • Feature 2 High safety to the human body

A third party evaluation body conducted the following safety evaluation test on “IMADEZE®,” and concluded that it shows a high safety performance.

  • Feature 3 Superior processability

While inorganic antimicrobial agents are mainly powders in general, “IMADEZE®” is a gel type solid. Its softening point is low at 50 to 70 ℃ and it readily dissolves in alcohol at room temperature. And, it can be emulsified and dispersed in water stably.
With such properties, “IMADEZE®” has a superior processability, example of which are applying a coating to fiber, rubber, plastic by application or impregnation of “IMADEZE®” or blending of it into raw materials by kneading or pouring.
